Youth Foundation feeds the hungry during pandemic – Viral Gala from Tarun Printing Works inspires friends to join

21 May 2021: The sight of people starving during what is undoubtedly the worst crisis to affect humanity can touch hearts everywhere. However, there are those who believe in making a difference, like Viral Gala of Tarun Printing Works and his group of friends, who have started to distribute food on Sunday to needy people of slum areas of Thane, Mulund and Bhandup under the aegis of Youth Foundation.

Explaining the rationale and approach, Viral Gala, says “Our concept is simple. On every Sunday we all make extra food at home and we request people to give extra food/ chapatis to us, whichCovid-19, we distribute. Now we are able to reach 700 people. We are also feeding stray dogs and grass to cows.”

“We have started in our area also from the past one month. In this period of Covid-19 unemployment is a big issue and we want to help the needy people with good food so we took up this initiative to feed the hungry. Some people including friends and community well wishers are helping us voluntarily with home food and fruits,” he adds.
