Women’s Special: Anita Chinni & Anureeta Mendjoge, Srinivasa Enterprises – Respecting and elevating dad’s legacy
08 March 2021: Srinivasa Enterprises has expanded to print on polycarbonate other than on paper, PVC, vinyl, clear PVC stickers. They mainly cater to the home appliances sector. They also supply packing materials such as stickers to exporters and the Tyre industry. As the founder, Raju sir has become a senior citizen (age over 85 years), his dynamic and enterprising daughters are carrying on the business under his guidance.
Anita Chinni is a Commerce Graduate with a passion for the arts. She had first started a career in Commercial Arts which she could not pursue due to unforeseen circumstances. But her passion for arts continued to grow and evolve with time. Recently she has developed a keen interest in quilling which has transformed into a small business. Over to Anita:
I started working with my father in my college days; due to this I developed knowledge from an early age. As the industry has evolved, we at Srinivasa Enterprises have been introducing the technologies. We started with manual screen making and printing and today we do have machinery, which has made the business more efficient and effective giving our customers a good experience due to timely deliveries. If not stepping into the business of screen printing, I would have been a professional artist.
Leadership comes naturally to me because I have been surrounded by my father, sisters and especially my mother who is my role model. She raised 7 children (all girls) which inspired me to become the person and a businesswoman I am today. Decision making and multi-tasking and having a clear vision is what I saw around my family growing up.
Anureeta Mendjoge is an Arts Graduate from Mumbai University, specialized in History as her Major. She has done a Secretarial Practice Certification from Davar’s College of Commerce, Mumbai. Over to Anureeta:
I worked in various private firms and assisted my father in procuring raw materials where the industry had few people in the trade. And as life unravelled and called for changes I took it in stride and moved to Pune and joined the family business. In 2015 my father reached out to me and asked if I could assist him to continue his legacy. Rest is history.
Today technology allows us to print 6 colour jobs, which is an ideal goal for Srinivasa Enterprises. Development in this industry is continuously evolving and we at Srinivasa Enterprises continue to jump on the bandwagon. If not printing, my preferred choice given the opportunity would be to work for social causes and support non-profits.
Since the lockdown due to COVID-19 happened we had to pivot to innovative ways to run the business as the government relaxed the rules. All measures and precautions mandated were implemented. My primary residence is in Pune which meant that working remotely became a new normal.
Maddula Machi Raju, affirms, “My opinion on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao has gotten even stronger with my recent personal experience. A year ago my wife passed away and I am proud to let the world know that my daughters broke the social barriers and performed the last rites. Another factor that amazed me about my daughters’ abilities was their running the business during COVID-19 times, overcoming the challenges of government mandated restrictions, labour availability, procurement of materials, etc.”
