Ultra-Modern Factory of Tamanna T-Shirt Manufacturing Inaugurated in Shaper, Rajkot
02 September 2024: Praful M. Manavadriya, Managing Director, a Screen Printing Industry Veteran 60 Years of Age, Shares Details About his Career Evolution and the Recent Development.
On August 11th, 2024, we inaugurated our latest Tamanna t-shirt manufacturing ultra-modern production factory in Shaper, near Rajkot. It is spread over 4,000 sq. ft. with 20+ trained staff and an initial production of 1,000 pieces per day. We have sewing, padlock, overlock, jeans stitching machines, sublimation printer, DTF printer, heat press, etc. The inauguration was done by Ramesh Tilara, the Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Rajkot South and the function was attended by 1,200+ industry colleagues / friends, well-wishers, etc.
The path to this success story started four decades ago, when I had started my career with Tradel Printing Press in the year 1984 in Upleta, a city in Rajkot district. At that stage I was 22 years of age. As I started getting knowledge and technical expertise, I started screen printing in the year 1990. In 1995, I decided to move to Rajkot as it had bigger market opportunities and my vision or future planning was also getting bigger.
From 1996 to 2005, I was in the business of trading as a distributor of screen printing inks, materials and related products. I got very good knowledge about various types of inks and also came to know about vast opportunities, possibilities and applications of screen printing.
In the year 2005, we started garment and t-shirt printing job work for local market requirements. In 2009, we used to purchase blank t-shirts, print them with special effect printing or value addition with creative designs developed by us as per the latest fashion trends and offered them in the local market to dealers, retailers, wholesalers and textile shops. Now, we have over 70+ regular clients or retailers in the Rajkot and Saurashtra region.
Nowadays we are also doing garment printing job work for clients as the design is provided by them. We are also making new designs and introducing them in the local market as well as through our dealer channel and network. We are getting 500-2,000 pieces orders per design. Our range of products includes t-shirts, shirts, pants, lower, cap, kitchen apron, hospital aprons, etc.
Our USPs are fast delivery, clean finishing and quality products. We are reputed for being well aware and having knowledge of new printing techniques and value addition. Our channel partners are with us for more than 15 years showing their trust and commitment. We are offering new fashion trends regularly.
The reason behind our decision for moving to a new factory was that we are in expansion mode. My son, Yagnik Patel, has joined the business from last 5 years and now he is also ready for expanding the business. He is taking care of our showroom in Rajkot and also takes care of sales and marketing, catering to the daily sales customers of about 200 pieces.
My cousin brother Dinesh Khant is taking care of our garment printing unit in Rajkot, which caters to job work of local garment / hosiery manufacturers.
In coming days, we want to expand our printing operations by adding the latest digital textile printing machines, DTG and sublimation printers. We want to add production capacity in uniforms and want to venture into sportswear and activewear manufacturing as today’s generation is much health conscious.
Evolving Fashion Industry Trends …
- Garment manufacturers are expanding into realms traditionally outside their purview like textile production, knitting and dyeing. The core motivation behind this shift is simply meeting the increasingly tight buyer timelines.
- Manufacturers, in EU & USA are facing stringent regulations driving them towards sustainable practices. The industry’s challenge lies in adapting manufacturing processes to be eco-friendly while maintaining transparency and ethical practices in the supply chain.
- Manufacturers from traditional hubs like India, are expanding their operations into new regions such as Africa, Middle East, Turkey and Latin America. This move aims to overcome geographical limitations and capitalise on benefits like lower labour costs, etc.
- Automation will bring a shift in manufacturing, with robots increasingly taking over tasks like cutting, sewing, finishing and even folding.
