TOPPAN Joins AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2025
20 January 2025: TOPPAN Inc., a TOPPAN Group company and wholly owned subsidiary of TOPPAN Holdings Inc. is participating in AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2025, which will be held at Tokyo Big Sight Exhibition Center from 22-24 January 2025.
AUTOMOTIVE WORLD is a forum for technical discussions and business talks between automakers and automobile part manufacturers and suppliers from around the world. The comprehensive event showcases a wide range of the latest technologies aligned with cutting-edge automobile-related themes, including carbon neutrality, computerization and electrification, driving automation, connected cars and lightweighting.
TOPPAN booth (E44-14) will provide physical displays and demonstrations of a diverse range of the TOPPAN Group’s latest technologies for vehicle electronics. This includes LC MAGIC™, a liquid crystal light control film ensuring privacy inside vehicles by blocking 95% of visible light, which will be presented in collaboration with sales partner TOKAI ELECTRONICS Co., Ltd. Visitors will also be able to see the latest models of TOPPAN’s Blanview™ LCDs, which deliver outstanding outdoor visibility combined with low power consumption. In addition, TOPPAN will showcase electronic wave control solutions (electronic wave control materials) that facilitate environments for safe, secure, high-speed communication indoors, outdoors and inside vehicles.
Main solutions on show
1) Light control film for vehicles that blocks light
LC MAGIC™ is a light control film that changes from transparent to opaque at the flick of a switch. At AUTOMOTIVE WORLD, TOPPAN and TOKAI ELECTRONICS will run a co-creation booth with an immersive demonstration of light control film switching instantly between transparent and opaque on the side doors and rear doors of a car graphic. In contrast to the display at AUTOMOTIVE WORLD 2024, which presented the view from outside a car, this time visitors will be able to see from inside a car how the use of LC MAGIC™ creates a bright and open space when the film is transparent, while ensuring privacy by blocking light when the film is opaque.
2) TFT-LCDs for mobility and display solutions for industrial equipment
ORTUSTECH brand small and medium-sized TFT-LCD panels combine outstanding outdoor visibility with high pixel counts, high definition, and low power consumption. The TOPPAN booth at AUTOMOTIVE WORLD will feature displays ideal for various equipment, with a focus on Blanview™ displays, which can deliver high contrast and clarity even under direct sunlight for gauges on motorcycles, heavy machinery, and equipment used in construction and agriculture, as well as for mobility-related equipment installed outdoors, such as gas stations and electric vehicle charging stations. TOPPAN will also showcase display solutions that integrate peripheral technologies to significantly reduce user design resource needs, an electrostatic hover touch display that can be operated without direct contact.
3) Electromagnetic wave control solutions (electromagnetic wave absorption sheet)
TOPPAN provides electromagnetic wave control solutions with the aim of facilitating environments for safe, secure, high-speed communication indoors, outdoors, and inside vehicles. At AUTOMOTIVE WORLD, TOPPAN will present materials that selectively absorb multiple radio waves to reduce interference and leakage from wireless communication devices and enable multiple simultaneous ultra-high-speed, ultra-low-latency connections, as well as materials that improve communication environments by reflecting radio waves at desired angles to ensure they reach dead zones.
