Tesla is Coming to India
07 October 2020: In his Twitter reply, Tesla CEO Elon Musk indicated his company’s plans to enter Indian roads in 2021 with a range of electric cars. In a reply to Tesla Club India@TeslaClubIN post, “Hey Elon, just thought we’d put this out here. We wait and hang on to hope wrt “hopefully soon” for India Tesla entry. Would love to hear of any progress in this regard,” Elon Musk replied by saying: “Next year for sure.” The Twitter post also had photograph of a T-shirt with the imprint: “India wants Tesla”. Since 2003, Tesla has grown to become one of the top sellers of electric cars in several countries. Tesla’s much-loved electric cars may finally come to Indian roads as soon as next year.
Tesla Inc, the American electric vehicle maker, aims to roll out about 20 Million Vehicles per annum by 2030, as per a widespread online media reports. As per Tesla’s announcement, in the third quarter, the company produced just over 145,000 vehicles. In 2019, it delivered approximately 367,500 vehicle.
As the co-founder and CEO of Tesla, Elon leads all product design, engineering and global manufacturing of the company’s electric vehicles, battery products and solar energy products. The first Tesla product, the Roadster sports car, debuted in 2008, followed by the Model S sedan, which was introduced in 2012, and the Model X SUV, which launched in 2015. Model S received Consumer Reports’ Best Overall Car and has been named the Ultimate Car of the Year by Motor Trend, while Model X was the first SUV ever to earn 5-star safety ratings in every category and sub-category in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s tests.
