SGAI, Colors, Fund Print Industry’s Future – Pay Fees for KTHM College B. Voc Printing Students

22 December 2021: K.T.H.M. College, Nashik, established in 1969, is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. There are 37 departments and the Bachelor Vocation Printing Technology, which offers the 3 years degree course approved by NSQF, MHRD UGC, affiliated with SPPU, is one of them. It is a ‘non-grant’ department with students from rural areas as well as urban areas.

These students come from a very weak financial background and due to COVID-19 their monetary condition has weakened further. Therefore, these students cannot pay the annual fee. Taking note of the situation, the Screenprinting and Graphics Association of India (SGAI) has funded this year’s education for two students. Colors, navi Mumbai (Leading Mfgrs. of UV Inks, Varnishes & High-End Speciality Inks) has also done the same.

Anil Brahmbhatt, President, SGAI, says, “These students are the future of the print industry in India. We have paid the fees of two students to ensure that there should be no educational loss of the studies and none of them leave their studies in between. We appreciate the fact that Colours has matched our philanthropy and contribution towards this noble cause. We request other screen printing industry members to also step forward and provide a helping hand for such needy students. They will always be grateful for your support.”

The printing industry is the third largest in the world and there are many job opportunities in the field so students can become self-employed by becoming entrepreneurs. The industry needs technically qualified people, which was the reason for starting this course. Students are given internships after the completion of 5th semester and placement is also given so the students before passing start earning and become independent.

Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj’s K.R.T. Arts, B. H. Commerce and A. M. Science College, Nashik (popularly known as K.T.H.M. College) is an Institution that rests on a strong academic foundation, blended with a modern approach that seeks to mould young men and women into successful role models.

The college has earned a name and fame due to its academic excellence, regularity and punctuality of its rigorous routine, high standard of discipline, administrative control and progressive outlook to serve the society. The college was accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC in 2004. It was re-accredited with ‘A’ grade CGPA 3.30 in 2011 and with ‘A++’ grade CGPA 3.79 in 2017 by securing first position in Maharashtra. UGC has granted a status of ‘College with Potential for Excellence (CPE)’ to the college.
