Second Season of Levi’s? x Deepika Padukone Collaboration Utilises Epta Next Generation Bio Inks

19 April 2022: Some of the biggest collaborations are facilitated by a ‘behind the scenes’ contributor and this holds where Season 2 of Levi’s X Deepika Padukone Collaboration is concerned. Epta Inks has essayed a key role in making it in line with Levi’s commitment to sustainability as collaboration utilises their Next Generation Bio Inks.

The news of the collaboration has been trending since it features two of the biggest names in apparel and fashion – Levi’s and Deepika Padukone. As per content produced by Levi Strauss & Co., which has appeared in leading publications such as The Economic Times; after a successful first season, the second season of Levi’s x Deepika Padukone has been launched in India.

Levi’s x Deepika Padukone collaboration is responsibly made, in line with Levi’s commitment to sustainability. More than 60% of the collaboration line is sustainably sourced with 100% of the line ethically produced. Featuring organic cotton, super-soft Tencel made from wood pulp, customized hemp and denim produced with the brand’s Water<Less technology, the line allows consumers to make a statement, with sustainability at the forefront.

Bio Inks is a Textile screen printing ink formulated from raw materials that derive largely from renewable and primary biological sources, in particular of plant origin: woodworking waste, soybean, corn, palm oil etc. The development of the new series took place only at full technical maturity of the new generation of biopolymers, that after years of study, led to the definition of polyurethanes with high renewable content that, at the same time, guarantee the same performances as fossil-derived material.

Epta’s Bio ink is a high sustainability-oriented screen printing ink. The ink is for printing on cotton, polyester and mixed fibres. It contains up to 82% of bio-based Carbon content. It is flexible in nature and not sticky. It has good printability and there is no screen blocking.

Moreover, a research centre in the USA certified (using isotope C14, already used in archaeology for dating the finds) that the organic material composing the inks ranges from 72% e 82%: this means that less than 30% of the composition of the ink comes from the exploitation of oil sources.

Being a global player in the textile market, Eptanova designs and develops products that minimize environmental impact, with specific attention to raw materials selection and industrial processes. Epta Inks provides its customers with Compliance Declaration, issued by SHEQ, for each standard for which we have decided to homologate: GOTS, ECO-PASSPORT and ZDHC.

After the launch of the first textile inks produced from sustainable raw materials, Under the Manoukian Argon brand, it is possible to reduce the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere, contributing to greater sustainability of the entire textile supply chain.
