How did the idea of starting a training institute / program come to your mind ?
It is observed that there are gaps in understanding the basics of advanced screen making knowledge and processes which play a pivotal role in achieving the desired quality screen printed product. The other reason being the new technological developments in the area of screen making and screen printing inspired us to initiate the training Institute.

What types of programs or courses are you planning to offer to students and industry colleagues ?
We will begin with the course for Advanced Screen Making and in the immediate future we have planned courses in the area of Textile Printing, Printing with UV Special Effects and Industrial Printing. The first course will commence from the third week of April; for the exact dates you can get in touch with us on the contact details mentioned at the end of this article.

What is the infrastructure you are creating related to the Institute ?
A full-fledged experience center where we have installed advance screen making machines, conference room for classroom sessions with power point presentations and practical sessions to demonstrate usage of products and processes involved in screen making.

How are you planning to engage your international principals to offer cutting edge courses to industry colleagues ?
All our foreign principals will share their knowledge by conducting a few courses on the latest technical topics with their products.

What is the significance of this initiative by Photokina ?
In the current scenario, there is no institute that offers skill development in areas of screen making and screen printing. Looking at the way screen printing is evolving, there is a pressing need felt by the screen printers where they can look for quick and permanent solutions to overcome the issues faced by them in the area of screen making and screen printing.
The intention of setting up the Photokina Experience Center is to share our experience and knowledge gained by us over the last more than three decades as our contribution towards the betterment of the screen printing industry.

Why is this initiative essential from an industry development point of view ?
Screen making is the most neglected area in screen printing production life cycle. If your screen stencils are well made then you are 80% successful in getting the desired print results. The training offered in advanced screen making course will help printers to develop the ability of making high quality screens.

What topics or aspects will be covered in the courses and who would benefit from them ?
We will make you aware about the theory behind advanced stencil making will demonstrate the techniques, steps, processes involved in making durable stencils, Classroom sessions will be conducted to explain the theory behind advanced stencil making plus we will demonstrate various stencil types processes, steps involved in making durable stencils. We will share our experience with you, discuss any issue you may face in screen making area and suggest probable solutions.
Experienced screen printers, entrepreneurs/owners who wish to get the insights in screen printing production supervisors and sales or purchase people handling screen printing products departments will benefit from this training.

What will be the course fees and other expenses ?
Course fees will be around Rs.5,000/- plus GST per participant. We are also planning to offer group discounts for companies, lunch and tea is Included in above cost. The lodging expenses will not be included in the course. We will assist in getting appropriate hotel near the training center; the charges of the accommodation will be paid by participant. Course duration would be 2 days from 10.00 am to 5:30 pm daily.
