“Our Philosophy has Always been Service with Technology”: Vimlesh Arora, JN Arora & Co. (P) Ltd.

20 September 2024: Vimlesh Arora, Managing Director, JN Arora & Co. (P) Ltd., Elaborates on how they are at Forefront of DTF Technology while Sharing Perspectives on the Company’s Future Vision and Recent Product Launches while Interacting at Gartex Texprocess 2024 New Delhi.

Which were the noteworthy new launches by JN Arora & Co. at the recently held Gartex 2024 exhibition ?
We launched the Smartjet DTF – 30N1, a direct to film heat transfer digital printer. This is a new, advanced variant from our DTF line-up with advanced features like automatic printhead preservation, tension bar and many more innovative features tailored for our Indian working conditions.

What are your views on the scope for DTF technology in the current scenario and going forward ?
At the moment, DTF is the most cost-effective means of printing on garments for on demand and long runs in a digital format. The versatility offered by DTF for a merchandiser is incredible. As the technology is rapidly evolving, we may see evolutionary developments based on this technology. The printing industry has experienced rapid growth in recent times, with more and more organisations moving to DTF printers. The use of Printer Direct to Film or Printer DTF allows you to obtain simplicity, convenience, consistency in performance with a wide range of colours. In addition, DTF printers are now a reliable and cost-effective machine to own.

Why is DTF printing increasingly preferred and how can it impact businesses ?
DTF printing can be a strategic investment for a business, offering two main avenues of opportunity. The first is incorporating DTF printing into your production pipeline to create custom printed products in-house. The second involves expanding your product offerings to include pre-printed DTF transfers that your customers can apply at home. DTF printing could be the game-changer your business needs to stay competitive in the custom printing landscape. With this technology, you’ll be equipped to deliver high-quality, full-colour designs on an array of products, effectively addressing the diverse demands of your clientele. While the initial investment might seem daunting, the increased efficiency, potential for higher customer satisfaction, and attractive profit margins offered by DTF printing could offset this expense in the long run.

What are the key advantages offered by DTF printers ?
One of the key advantages of DTF printers is their reduced waste. Unlike other printing technologies, DTF printers use a direct-to-film method, which eliminates the need for transfer papers and reduces waste significantly.
This not only saves you money but also helps to minimize your impact on the environment. In addition to reduced waste, DTF printers offer a quick turnaround time. With their high-speed printing capabilities, you can expect to get your prints done in a fraction of the time compared to other printing methods. This is particularly beneficial for businesses that have tight deadlines or need to fulfil large orders quickly.
DTF printers also offer customisable options, allowing you to create personalised prints with ease. Whether you need to print on garments, accessories, or other materials, DTF printers can handle it all. With their high resolution, you can achieve sharp and vibrant prints that will impress your customers.
Furthermore, DTF printers are known for their low maintenance requirements. They’re designed to be user-friendly and require minimal maintenance, saving you time and money on repairs and upkeep.

What are future plans for JN Arora & Co. ?
We want to introduce newer technologies and products as and when required by our customers. The industry is seeing technology changes very fast. The advent of digital technology has changed the way printing is done over a very short period of time. We will keep introducing newer products with new special effects for textile, screen graphics and even offset printing techniques. Our new DTF printer is a very sophisticated machine with features that are useful for our customers in comparison to other DTF machines available in the market.

How would you describe the company’s philosophy ?
Our philosophy has always been service with technology. This is our motto since long, when we started way back in 1958. We kept on improvising and improving with the way our old and new products are used. Customers’ needs and requirement has been our focus throughout. Our portfolio of products is a healthy mix that enjoys the virtue of value for money and technological advantages.

How are the NextGen at JN Arora & Co. gearing up to face the ever changing market scenario ?
The answer is obviously technology. Keeping up with it is the only way to move forward. However, it comes with its own pitfalls, with the precipitous pace also come products which are not market ready with regards to quality or performance. Judging the product quality and performance has always been paramount for us before offering it to our customers. It is always a balance of haste and caution.

What are the emerging trends in Indian screen printing industry, which will shape it’s future in coming days ?
Screen printing is very much alive in the Industrial applications like appliances, automotive, special effects and textiles. The shift is towards long term labels and decoration for screen printing applications. There are so many applications that one cannot achieve results without screen printing. And screen printing’s role cannot be challenged for these applications.

What would be your advice or suggestions to industry colleagues ?
Once going forward, we should look at a balance between digital and screen print, which is the most effective way. We hope, that our country could emerge as a bigger player and look to export more and more in the coming future, that way our industry will also flourish with other industries. We should focus on export applications, without ignoring the domestic market. Our thinking is that printing Industry will grow no matter what. We should play on our strengths and improve our weaknesses. But our government needs to support us on backward integration to sustain this growth, and produce global companies in printing industry.
