HomeBusinessOBITUARY: Viral Shah, NextGen of Hemant Screen Ink Co. Passes away at Mumbai

OBITUARY: Viral Shah, NextGen of Hemant Screen Ink Co. Passes away at Mumbai

21 August 2023: Viral Shah, the son of Hemant Shah, Founder, Hemant Screen Ink Co. based at Girgaum, Mumbai, passed away at the age of 46 years on August 21, 2023, after a brief illness. The firm is renowned as one of the oldest dealers of screen printing inks and materials. After inheriting his father’s legacy, he had started a new firm called Mithil Corporation for a few years and after that he diversified into the import of vinyl stickers.

The firm had its origins in 1970s. Viral Shah was young and dynamic, of a helpful nature and always ready to guide printers with technical assistance. The business was started by his father (Heman Shah) in 1970s in Girgaum (Mumbai), when there were few knowledgeable and reliable suppliers in the screen printing industry and the industry was also at a nascent stage in India at that time. Together the father-son duo had played an important role in developing the industry.

Both the Shahs, father and son, helped the screen printers in the Girgaum area, which was known as the hub of commercial / wedding card printing a few years ago. Viral was very enthusiastic, always ready to offer new products / technologies to the clients. Together they were serving the printers all over India as they were one of the oldest distributors and reliable in the industry.

Viral Shah is survived by his wife and two children. May his soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.
