OBITUARY: Ashok Newaskar, Founder of San Printech (P) Ltd.
06 January 2022: A cool headed and calm minded Veteran screen printing industry professional, Ashok Newaskar (66), Founder of San Printech (P) Ltd., Mumbai, suddenly left all of us during the Amritvela (divine hours) of 4th January 2022. He left behind his wife Sandhya and his two sons Saurabh and Ankit. While Saurabh is the immediate successor of San Printech, Ankit is an IT engineer with MBA.
It is interesting to know that as usual Ashok Newaskar was active on the previous day (on 3rd January) and he had regular meetings with his team. He has had a very peaceful departure without having to suffer any major illness. However, it has created a sudden vacuum not only in his family but in the entire screen printing industry.
One of his customers recalled that Newaskar was not a typical businessman. He was rather a technical expert and was always ready to guide his clients even before they buy products from San Printech. He had a customer first attitude and always tried to offer the best to his clients various high end products sourced from leading global brands, especially from Europe. He always tried to find and offer improved solutions to customers difficulties and advise them with right methods.
Newaskar was nurtured his company for nearly 25 years which he founded after his stint at Khatau Mills in Mumbai. San Printech has been making rapid progress since the last 10 years, under the guidance of Ashok Newaskar. San Printech took up the authorized agency and distributorship of India from reputed Multinational European Manufacturers. The company now supplies Mesh from Sefar, Switzerland, Screen making Chemicals from Kiwo, Germany, UV & Speciality Inks from Encres Dubuit, France, PU Squeegees from Fimor, France and Speciality Varnishes for Coating as well as Printing from Schmid Rhyner, Switzerland. They have few other top notch brands to cover the entire gamut of screen printing sector in industrial, textile and speciality commercial and graphics printing.
The company was specifically established for the supply of screen printing consumables and before its establishment, already this business was being handled by the associate company San Fibres and Chemicals since 1991. Since October 2010, the firm San Printech was converted to San Printech (P) Ltd.
Ashok Newaskar studied Textile Chemistry & Technology with Specialization in Printing at VJTI Mumbai after his schooling in AES High School, Ahmednagar. Newaskar has long experience in Textile and Graphic Printing Industry.
“Following his legacy, I will try to keep good relationship with our principals and customers with best possible services. I feel screen printing industry will real miss my dad’s connection,” says Saurabh Newaskar.
