Mutoh is Showcasing New UV LED 64” roll printer at Drupa – XpertJet 1682UR
28 May 2024: MUTOH Industries Ltd., Japan is showcasing new XpertJet1682UR at Drupa 2024 (28th of May to the 7th of June), Hall 9 Booth B10. This is MUTOH’s first roll-to-roll UV LED printer based on award-winning XpertJet printer platform. This dual-headed 64-inch (162 cm) wide printer uses MUTOH’s environment friendly SVHC1 free US61 series inks, available in C, M, Y, K, White, and Varnish 800 ml ink packs.
The XPJ-1682UR, equipped with two 8-channel monoblock 1440 nozzle print heads in a staggered setup and two 4-inch (101.6 mm) UV LED lamps, achieves print resolutions up to 1,440 x 1,440 dpi. Unlike other UV LED printers, it can produce five-layer graphics without media pull back, ensuring impeccable print results.
The machine offers enhanced user comfort with multiple automated calibrations, including bi-directional alignment, media feed adjustment, remaining media tracking, and a nozzle area select feature which detects and compensates for missing nozzles. Such features will increase efficiency and reduce waste.
MUTOH’s US61 Series Inks The UV LED US61 inks are sustainable and meet the current and anticipated EU regulations on chemical use. They are free from SVHC1 and CMR category 1 substances, safe for operators. The inks provide excellent adhesion, scratch resistance and flexibility, with an elongation of up to 200%.
With other Machines on Display MUTOH is also showcase its award-winning XpertJet SR PRO 54” (137 cm) and 64” (162cm) sign and display printers, along with the GREENGUARD Gold certified, gBL-free MS51 sign and display inks which do not require health and safety pictograms, underlining its ongoing commitment to sustainability as well as safer work environments.
For direct-to-shape applications, MUTOH is presenting XpertJet661UF A2+ sized desktop 6 colour (C, M, Y, K, Wh, Va) UV LED direct to object printer, printing directly onto objects up to 15 cm and new XpertJet1462UF A1+ sized high productivity 6-colour flatbed printer with moving gantry, offering an impressive 1,420 mm x 720 mm table size. Printing onto objects up to 15 cm, XPJ-1462UF is powered by MUTOH’s US61 series SVHC free inks.
For direct-to-substrate (DTS) proofing applications, MUTOH is presenting ValueJet628MP (24” – 63 cm roll-to-roll) and ValueJet1628MH (64” – 162 cm hybrid) printers with the MP31 eight-colour ink set (C, M, Y, K, Or, Gr, Bl, Wh). These inks offer a very wide colour gamut, precise colour reproduction and are extremely shrinkable and stretchable. A unique feature of MUTOH’s MP31 inks is their ability to print proofs directly onto the final production substrate.
