Mukesh Ambani lures startups to join hands with Jio

21 July 2020: The Chairman of Reliance Group, Mukesh Ambani invited startups to partner with Jio for the future growth of the business. He lauded the role of several startups that were supported or acquired by Reliance to build technology capability for Jio.

Addressing the virtual Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Mukesh Ambani said: “Just a few decades back, Reliance itself was a start-up…And as a less-than 4 years old company, JIO is still very much a start-up. As such… we have a very special place in our heart for start-ups…. We are well-positioned to help Indian start-ups in a number of ways… Whether it be in technology development… product development… distribution… market access… or even scale-up capital… We are ready to integrate them into our roadmap and to help them reach their full potential.”

He said that Jio Platforms along with its over 20 startup partners who are now part of our family have built significant world-class capabilities in several cutting-edge technologies. He listed out the technologies as – cloud computing, 4G/5G, big data analytics, devices and operating systems, virtual and mixed reality, machine learning and artificial intelligence, blockchain distributed ledger, computer vision and natural language understanding.

He continued: “Our journey thus far… and our road ahead… is possible… most of all… because of the talented and passionate people who are part of the Jio Family. Together, I am confident that Jio, and this extended Jio Family… will play a leading role in India’s transformation into a DIGITAL SOCIETY… and one of the leading digitally-enabled economies in the world.”
