Marabu’s Mara® Shape DUV-HBV high build varnish heralds a new innovation in glass printing by UV Digital Inks with the combination of screen and digital printing. It has been specially developed for the decoration of haptic printings for the digital direct printing on packaging and hollow bodies and is particularly suitable for the industrial single-pass process. Depending on the number of layers, thicknesses of more than 1mm can be realized easily. By using the Mara Shape DUV-HBV, glasses can be universally embellished haptically without complex moulding tools.

For direct printed beverage bottles, screen printing opens up completely new design possibilities and ensures that the bottles will stand out in the shop. Bright and glossy colours along with high opacity are Marabu’s daily business. Screen printing machines can print up to seven colours, the colour mixture can realise individual, such as Pantone.
You only need CMYK and white in digital printing, there is no colour change for different images, limited stock for the customer, no hardener or additives needed and photorealistic motifs. It is suitable for clear relief printing of higher and thicker graphic elements – up to 3mm, fine details, combination of visual and haptic effects. Contactless printing enables you to shot into gaps, concave or convex geometries are easy going for digital, enabling to print on the edges and beyond it. The design will be extended over the glass geometry and complex geometries can be compensated by software features.
Fine lines are achievable in screen printing, high edge sharpness and intricate designs are no problem. It enables individualisation in digital printing with print on demand, no printing form necessary, customisation possible, easy channel differentiation, individual printing and glass shaping. High print velocity in screen printing is possible with printing an average 80 bottles per minute.
