Maniraj Maurya, Impressions (Pune) honoured with ‘Kovid Yoddha Sanman’ Award
29 October 2020: Maniraj Maurya, Founder, Impressions is well-known as a leading Pune-based screen printer with 35 years of experience and expertise in the industry. During the initial COVID-19 phase of three months – April, May and June – when the lockdown had been imposed, Maniraj plunged into COVID-19 relief work along with his 34 year old son Hemant and staff of seven people.
They were seen tirelessly working day and night, helping the local people, society members and elderly who were not able to go out due to the fear of being infected by COVID-19. Providing them with items of daily necessity and sustenance like milk, vegetables and so on, these COVID-19 warriors made a visible impact on the lives of the common people. They even provided free daily necessities to poor people of the area.
Their sustained efforts towards this noble cause were appreciated at a public function. A memento was presented to Maniraj Maurya during a public function held on October 23, 2020. He was felicitated with the ‘Kovid Yoddha Sanman’ award by Siddharth Anil Shirole, MLA of Shivajinagar (Pune) and Archana Madhukar Musale, Corporator, BJP of the Aundh-Baner Ward of Pune Municipal Corporation.
On the occasion, Maniraj Maurya, said, “It is a privilege to be able to help your fellow man during a crisis and I am grateful for our efforts being acknowledged at a public forum in this manner. I thank the organisers and feel that such initiatives and recognition will definitely encourage others to also join in and contribute their might to support those in need at such a testing period in our lives. I hope that team Impressions has left a lasting impression in the minds and hearts of Punekars with this example. If we can inspire more people to do something similar, our efforts will be truly rewarded.”
Several other leading personalities also attended the function. These awards were also presented to other local members who have done excellent work during COVID-19 pandemic.
