KTHM College of Printing Technology, Nashik Students Visit Asia Coat + Ink Show 2022
10 December 2022: KTHM College, B.Voc. Printing Technology, Nashik, is continuously seeking to collaborate with the printing industry as per their ongoing mission of industry-academy cooperation. Recently 40+ students, led by five faculties, visited the Asia Coat + Ink 2022 Show (17-19 November) in Mumbai and attended a technical seminar.
The visit was initiated by the College upon an invitation from Dr. Ravindra Gandhi, Chairman Asia Coat Ink Show 2022. After the visit to the show on 19th November, a certificate of participation duly signed by AIPIMA was presented to every student. The board of Directors of AIPIMA had also decided to permit a visit of students to Ink manufacturing factories either in Mumbai or in Pune, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai where ever required.
“The students visited the Exhibition to learn about Printing Ink Technology. The students could see a display of innovative products, and also attended the presentations by the Printing Ink Technology Experts.,” said Prof. Sagar Pekhale, HOD at KTHM College B.Voc. Printing Technology, adding, “It was a rare opportunity for our students to see the vastness of the printing ink technologies and its application on numerous substrates such as paper, plastic, vinyl, etc.”
“We have signed an MoU with the All India Printing Ink Manufacturers Association (AIPIMA), the Apex Body of the Printing Ink Manufacturers in India. From our side we have completed the signing formalities and awaiting a signed copy from the AIPIMA,” said Prof Sagar, adding, “The important highilght of the MoU are: Guest Lecture by AIPIMA members; industrial visits for students; internship, and job placement, any other mutual cooperation for the benefits of the students.”
Prof. Rahul Pagare, Asst. Professor and Placement Head, says, “There is a great demand for skilled persons in the printing industry and we see to it that our students get full practical experience in the industry during their studies. As such, we are continuously seeking cooperation from the industry, be it machine manufacturers, ink manufacturers, or print presses. In all, our students can get overall practical experience from the industry whereas in the college we offer them theoretical knowledge. It is in the industry only that students can witness the latest machinery, inks and substrates and practically see how workmen work in the factories. This will enable students to gain a higher confidence level.”
