Industrial Inkjet celebrates its 15th anniversary
16 January 2021: Industrial Inkjet Ltd. (IIJ), a leader in industrial inkjet technology, is celebrating their 15th anniversary. IIJ has global expertise in designing, implementing, producing and servicing systems for customers across diverse markets. They are the official sales and technical support centre for Konica Minolta industrial inkjet outside of Asia.
Industrial Inkjet Ltd. was founded by current Managing Director John Corrall at the suggestion of Konica Minolta in Japan who were looking for someone to support their printhead customers in Europe and USA.
Starting in a small converted farm building the first employee hired was Lesley Scanlon, who is still with the company as a Director and General Manager. Around 2008 the company started to branch out into manufacturing inkjet “Print Engines”. Now the company has over 50 staff and has 17000 sq. ft. of premises near Cambridge. It has satellite offices in USA and South Africa and over 500 inkjet Print Engines have been installed worldwide. Key business areas are security printing, packaging and décor.
John Corrall says that despite the virus and the threat of Brexit, IIJ had a record year in 2020 and with new products coming on line in 2021 the company is very confident of a bright future.
In December 2020, IIJ USA moved to a larger facility in Golden, Colorado, USA and important additions to their team to ensure continued growth, capabilities and support in 2021 and beyond. The new facility features a 50% increase in space to allow for continued advancements. Improvements include a larger conference room, a larger print sample lab, increased production space and a new lab that is dedicated to ongoing development and innovation.
