Greenways Tech Solutions (Tirupur) becomes auth. distributor of Murakami
22 July 2020: Singapore based Murakami, with their headquarters in Japan, has appointed Tirupur based Greenways Tech Solutions as their authorised distributor to market their complete range of pre-press products, vis-à-vis, emulsions, screen washing and reclaiming chemicals. Murakami’s products have been in the Indian market for many years, but there was no full-fledged dealer arrangement.
Greenways Tech Solutions offers a wide range of Textile printing ink, dyes, chemical, screen printing inks, printing ink auxiliaries. The marketing tie-up was finalized in January 2020, however owing to COVID-19 pandemic, not much progress could be made. However, as the Tirupur textile market is bouncing back, the Murakami products are now aggressively promoted. Being a made in Japan product, the company has been witnessing a shift in the use of screen making materials, from Chinese made low-cost stuff to high-quality Japanese products albeit with littler higher price, said B. Muralidharan, proprietor of Greenways Tech. “As phased unlock is in progress, enquiries for Murakami’s eco-friendly screen making products are picking up”, he further added.
Speaking about the impact of COVID-19 on Tirupur textile printing, Muralidharan said, “I am into screen printing business for nearly 25 years. Tirupur has faced a lot of crises in the past also, yet every time it fine-tunes and bounces back; the market here seizes new opportunities. This time mask and PPEs were the big opportunities for Tirupur garment sector. It not only generated extra business for now and future, but also during lockdown the companies could utilise the infrastructure for mask and PPE manufacturing, as the regular garment manufacturing was stopped. Even within Mask business, companies have turned creative by offering custom made and designer masks.”
Registered in 2009, Greenways Tech Solutions has made a name for itself in the list of top suppliers of Tirupur in particular and India in general. By taking up the dealership of Murakami, the company can supply eco-friendly products. By and large, about 90% of the companies now prefer to use green products having all eco and environmental certifications.
“Buyers and Exporters, not only demand eco-friendly inks to be used in textile printing, but also expect all screen making chemicals to be eco-friendly, he concluded.
