EARTHDAY.ORG to Host Live Virtual Event on 14th December 2022: Fashion Talks
13 December 2022: EARTHDAY.ORG (EDO), the global organizer of Earth Day and largest recruiter of environmental movements worldwide, is working to create a dialogue around sustainable fashion and change the prevailing mindset around fast fashion, an industry stripping our Earth of its limited resources and exploiting vulnerable individuals into forced labor and terrible working conditions.
Shelley Rogers, the Global Coordinator of Fashion for the Earth at EARTHDAY.ORG, sits down with Daniel Silverstein, the founder and designer of the fashion brand Zero Waste Daniel. Daniel designs and creates clothes out of 100% pre-consumer cutting room scraps, design room waste and leftover materials. The pair will discuss Daniel’s journey in the fashion world, why his experiences have shaped his zero-waste mindset and how the fashion industry has created an existential waste problem they do not know how to fix.
