Dream11 is the New Sponsorer of Team India Jersey
01 July 2023: Dream11 is the new sponsorer of Team India jersey in a deal cost of Rs.358 crore. As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had recently said that it was looking for a new jersey sponsor after its deal with the Byju ended abruptly.
Recently, BCCI had invited applications for the Indian team’s jersey rights, setting the base price at a 40% discount from the last winning bid at Rs.3 crore for every bilateral match featuring India and Rs.1 crore each for matches played as part of ICC or Asian Cricket Council tournaments, which include the ICC World Cup and the Asia Cup, respectively. Byju’s had replaced Oppo back in 2019. Byju’s was also one of the sponsors of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
Recently, Adidas was announced as the apparel sponsor of the Indian Cricket Team. In the past, Dream11 had sponsored the Indian Premier League. When Vivo decided to take a break in their IPL title sponsorship deal, Dream11 stepped in for a one-year deal as the title sponsor.
Several Indian cricketers have also been the brand ambassadors of this platform. Indian cricket team will likely wear their new kits in the upcoming away series against West Indies, starting July 12.
Athleisure and sportswear manufacturers along with others like alcoholic products, betting companies, cryptocurrency entities, real-money gaming platforms (excluding fantasy sports gaming), tobacco brands and those associated with offensive content such as pornography were prohibited from bidding.
