At The Forefront of Technology and Establishing A Global Presence – Vama Prints & Technologies (P) Ltd.

06 March 2025: Bhavesh Shah, Managing Director, Vama Prints & Technologies (P) Ltd. Shares the Journey of Travelling Overseas and Interaction with Overseas Companies for Brand Building and Promoting their ‘Make in India’ Products .

The quest for consistently exploring overseas markets and interacting with international companies while consolidating your brand positioning in specific countries across the globe requires a focussed approach along with strategic initiatives. At Vama Prints & Technologies (P) Ltd., we have been doing this regularly and this is what actually defines our approach.

Instead of sitting and patting ourselves on the back for what had been achieved, we felt the need to further accelerate our efforts and continue to reach out to confirm tie-ups in potential markets to further enhance our market reach and penetration across the world. These highly impactful steps in our journey were marked by interesting interactions.

We recently had dinner at an authentic Japanese restaurant with our Japan distributor team (Europort), Tokyo. They are distributors for Mimaki DTF printers and many more such printing equipment. They are probably the largest or among the largest in Japan. The purpose of our visit was to conduct joint trials to evaluate different techniques of printing with Ultranex DTF film to set the process to get best quality out of DTF transfer. Three days of extensive trials at their test centre in Tokyo concluded well with lot of knowledge enhancing results and this made our relationship much stronger.

We are supplying DTF film sheets and rolls in Japan to them since more than a year. My visit to Tokyo was for relationship building, to understand how the Ultranex product is performing, challenge solving with allied products like powder and inks, while also grasping how the Japanese market is solving problems with DTF which is still in evolution phase and how do they beat price war. I

had an interesting and very promising round of meetings with the owner Ryochi Mekawa San, Technology Application Manager Hanaki San and Quality Engineer Fukuda San. We did some research on application tests at their test centre Akihabara Tokyo. The result came up very well. After discussions on how to make baking in shaker better, the right adhesive powder etc., the conclusion was reached delightfully with scope of improvements at both the sides and strengthening the ties for technology and trade.

We had interactions at Etiketa Transfer, Ziri, Slovenia. Etiketa is a major and the most respected garment transfer company in Europe, making highest quality transfers. It’s been two years for qualifying process and hundreds of trials and we are on verge to become their supplier. We are working to engineer best of the best film for them.

In Belgium Brussels, with our distributor Minerva, we went visiting different customers to check feedback and trials in their own lab. They provided great feedback and are a very friendly people. Especially my friend Direk made a point that out of busy schedule, we visit the city centre of Brussels to get a feel of the place and people.

Moreover, we participated for the 5th time in the USA – it was the second time at Impressions Expo 2025, Long Beach CA, USA and twice before that at Printing United and once at GPX Expo. We are currently in the process of developing our strong customer base there. It is not easy to stand at a show with the best suppliers from around the world and getting compared. During the first exhibition I remember how people had really wondered about our existence, we had a tough time to get noticed, but now we have our set of customers. We have stock of Ultranex DTF film with our logistic partner to distribute the product in USA. Believe me, the only reason we are surviving in USA market as people are noticing us with our quality and consistency in quality. What we have learned there is only cost is not just the basis of marketing, but product merit and sustainability Is more important.

Prior to these, we had participated in many such international shows in the last 2 years including Europe and USA. Frankly, the response is mixed from okay to overwhelming but whenever we participate one thing is for sure – everyone whomsoever visits our booth be it any country or region, they were very interested to understand our product and company profile.

Visitors are very happy to understand new DTF and learn that Heat Transfer release film are Made in India; they want to buy Indian made products. We are gradually converting the leads to clients with our proficiency of consistent quality and service to the clients. As being a technology-based company and not a reseller or relabelling company of product we are able to give our international clients robust solutions to their challenging demands. For sure, we are now getting repeat orders from our existing overseas client base and we are increasing the client base continuously all over the globe.
