Anil Kariyawasam Re-Elected as SLAP President

15 July 2024: The Sri Lanka Association of Printers (SLAP) successfully held its 64th Annual General Meeting at The Kingsbury Hotel on 28th June 2024, re-electing Anil Kariyawasam as President for a second consecutive term. Reflecting on the profound responsibilities of his role, Kariyawasam expressed deep respect for the distinguished legacy of past leaders. He committed to building upon their achievements, leveraging their invaluable experiences, and upholding the esteemed standards of SLAP. Emphasizing the importance of unified leadership and dedication within the Executive Committee, he called for unity and active participation in all association activities, dedicating time and effort to the betterment of SLAP and the printing industry in Sri Lanka.

General Secretary Murugesu Senthilnathan highlighted SLAP’s unwavering support and assistance to its members, particularly during challenging times. Through continuous dialogue with relevant authorities and collective efforts, SLAP managed to mitigate obstacles and minimize their impact on the industry. He noted that despite the challenges, SLAP remained actively engaged with ongoing projects and activities. Senthilnathan extended sincere gratitude to all sponsors who generously supported the Association’s endeavours throughout the year. He stated that the unwavering commitment and financial contributions of the sponsors have been indispensable in sustaining the Association and promoting growth and development within the printing industry in Sri Lanka.

Treasurer Udaya Hettiarachchi reported a tremendously successful year, marked by numerous events and training sessions. He noted that SLAP had actively supported the industry and collaborated closely with government institutions to advance the sector. FY 2023/24 has been a successful year for SLAP, enabling it to complete several fundraising activities. The Sri Lanka Print 2023 and National Print Award 2023 were key highlights of the year, generating significant profit for the Association. The Paduru Party 2023, Printers Seminar conducted in Jaffna/Kurunegala and Printers Sixes 2024 events were also successful and profitable for SLAP during the 2023/24 period. 64th Annual General Meeting Showcased SLAP’s commitment to its members and the industry, highlighting a year of significant achievements and ongoing dedication to progress and excellence in the printing industry of Sri Lanka.
