Akil Contractor adds unique attribute to stamps for Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple
21 March 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, recently released six special commemorative postage stamps dedicated to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple along with an album carrying similar stamps related to Lord Ram issued earlier in different countries of the world. PM stated that postage stamps also act as medium to pass on historical events to the future generations.
There is another attribute of these stamps, printed at Security Press, Hyderabad, which makes them truly unique and the credit for that goes to Akil Contractor, who has added a new dimension, an innovation to these commemorative stamps for Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple. Yes, the Print Dynamic Founder & Chief Innovator, has provided the ‘encapsulated fragrances rub and sniff’ ink which releases a fragrance of sandalwood, thereby creating a spiritual ambience whenever the stamps are used.
Explaining the concept, Akil Contractor, shared, “We have coordinated the release of a special fragrance for this auspicious occasion. Due to the ‘rub and sniff’ ink the fragrance will remain locked in the stamp right until the day it is taken out and used, which is when the ‘encapsulated fragrance’ gets released. This is a major difference as compared to spraying the fragrance on stamps as that dissipates after some time passes.”
Commenting on the significance, he said, “At first, we didn’t realise the importance of what had been accomplished. Then, the distributor called and asked me, ‘Do you know where your ink is going ? It is being incorporated in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple stamp!’ We are truly excited to have been part of such an auspicious occasion and this innovation has certainly added a spiritual dimension to these stamps.”
“At Print Dynamic, we are constantly coming up with new concepts, thinking up different ways to shape the future of inks and further extend the scope of its applications. Customised creations are our forte and it’s the charm of the challenge that drives us. We are doing exciting work, satisfying the creative needs of clients with new inks,” he added.
Akil Contractor was honoured with the IFCA Star Award in recognition of excellence for ‘Sterlisation Indicator Inks – Import Substitute’ in the category of ‘Innovation.’ His unique approach, constant emphasis on innovation and contribution to the printing ink industry has been earlier acknowledged at the national level by the Limca Book of Records, with Akil Contractor being honoured in the 2008 edition for the ‘Most Printing Ink Formulations.’ Print Dynamic has also been awarded several prizes at the Asia Pacific and Global level during events.
