GTTES 2025: A New Era of Textile Innovation Begins

06 March 2025: Global Textile Technology and Engineering Show (GTTES 2025) has officially commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, NESCO, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. Organized by the Indian International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society), this milestone event runs from 21-23 February, showcasing technological advancements and fostering global cooperation in textile machinery.

The opening ceremony was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including:

– Mrs. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, Textiles Commissioner, Government of India
– Gideon Labane, Consul General of South Africa in Mumbai

– Idris Rauko, Advisor to the President of Burkina Faso & former Ambassador to India=
Officials from the Botswana High Commission, the Burundi Embassy, the Consulate General of Myanmar, and the Consulate General of Turkey
Their presence underscored the international significance of GTTES 2025 and its role in strengthening global ties within the textile industry.

Industry Insights and Vision
Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of the India ITME Society Steering Committee, highlighted the show’s commitment to technological innovation and business collaboration. With participation from 39 countries and 210 exhibitors, GTTES 2025 serves as a dynamic platform for networking, learning and forging international partnerships.

“The textile industry contributes 13% to India’s industrial production, 2.3% to GDP, and 12% to foreign exchange inflows. This exhibition will empower textile machinery manufacturers by facilitating trade and technological advancements,” said Sanghvi.

Focus on Sustainability and Technological Advancements
During her address, Mrs. Roop Rashi Mahapatra praised Mumbai’s adoption of smart technologies and acknowledged the contributions of the Textile Committee, SBI Foundation, and NIFT as knowledge partners in the event.

Dr. Kailash Shinde emphasized the importance of sustainability, noting that the global population generates massive textile waste. He highlighted a pilot project supported by the Ministry of Textiles, TSR, USBI Foundation, and Reliance Industries to create a recycling and upcycling facility that transforms waste into valuable resources.

Launch of Innovative Textile Machinery & Industry Collaborations
GTTES 2025 showcased groundbreaking innovations across various textile machinery segments:

– Weaving Segment: New launches by Laxmi Shuttleless Looms, Riser Import & Export, AAS Tech, Premier Looms, and Om Corporation
– Digital Print Segment: Innovations from ColorJet India Limited
– Processing Segment: New solutions from Caru-Natex and National Electrical Engineering Company
– Spinning Spare Parts: Cutting-edge developments from Samruddhi Engineering
– Industrial Solutions: New offerings from Ingersoll-Rand (India) Limited
– Knitting & Garmenting: Advanced technologies introduced by Vertex Edge Tech
– A special session by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) covered standardization in textile machinery and provided insights into Open Trading Rights (OTR).

Symposium on Indigenous Development of Textile Machinery
A symposium, jointly organized by Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), the Federation of Societies for Indian Development (FSID), and the Indian Institute of Science (IISC) Bangalore, focused on indigenous advancements in textile machinery. Experts discussed the latest developments and the importance of self-reliance in the industry.

Honoring Excellence: India ITME Awards & Future Outlook
Day 1 also featured the official inauguration of India ITME 2026, setting the stage for the future of the textile industry. The India ITME Awards celebrated outstanding contributions and innovations, reinforcing the industry’s drive for excellence.
