‘Opportunities in Uniform & Sportswear Industry’ Interaction Meeting held at Ludhiana to Highlight Growth Potential
18 August 2023: Uniform & Sportswear Expo (USE) 2023, to be held at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai from November 23-25, 2023 is one of this year’s most eagerly awaited shows. Leading up to the event date, its organiser Aditya Expositions (P) Ltd., a reputed brand and catalyst for industry transformation, organised an industry get-together on August 7, 2023 at Regal Hall, Hotel Maharaja Regency, Ferozpur Road, Ludhiana from 7.30-9.30 pm where the topic for discussion was ‘Opportunities in Uniform & Sportswear Industry.’
The city was an ideal choice for hosting the program since Ludhiana is considered to be one of the important manufacturing centres for manufacturing knitted garments or t-shirts, sportswear, etc. and Jalandhar, another leading sportwear and sports good industry centre, is just an hour away.
The aim was to convey to the local manufacturers – companies from this region – how exhibiting in the show at Mumbai would give them an opportunity to explore western and southern India, since both are considered important growth zones.
Devang N. Sheth, Founder and Director, Aditya Exposition, made a presentation on the upcoming Uniform Expo 2023, which will be the second edition, and also elaborated about the market, the inherent potential within these two segments, year 2022 visitor statics, social media / electronic campaign for the show, and more to a focused audience.
He also shared that the second edition of IndustryConnect Directory will be released during Uniform & Sportswear Expo (USE) 2023; since these apparel segments have unique demand drivers it will continue to be extremely relevant going forward as well.
“This on-ground event, provides a customised platform for showcasing brands, products, machinery and more. This sunrise industry has vast scope to increase its share within the apparel and textile market. We envisage immense potential for growth and development,” Devang added.
The activewear market in India has witnessed a steady growth in terms of market revenue. The market was valued at INR 466.9 billion in 2018 and is estimated to reach INR 997.8 billion by 2024, with an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 13.59%, during 2019-2024.
The market size of the uniforms manufacturing sector in India is estimated to be Rs.18,000 crore per annum, with Rs.10,000 crore coming from machinery and fabrics while Rs.8,000 crore come from sales supplying to local schools through retailers and institutions.
