Jeetendra of Efex Colour Screens now offers training in advanced screen printing

30 January 2021: There has been discussion among the screen printers that there is not a single institute to exclusively teach screen printing basics to new entrants and students and advanced courses for print professionals as screen printing is growing far and wide in terms of its applications on a variety of products.

As such, Jeetendra J. of Efex Colour Screens, Chennai, has started offering training to print professionals at his printing unit on one-to-one basis. His company is engaged in speciality invitations, customised wedding cards, packaging, etc. The company has its 7,500 sq.ft factory in Chennai and a showroom in Chennai. The company also exports its wedding cards to USA, UK, France, Australia and other NRI international markets, besides domestic presence.

“During COVID-19 pandemic, as I sat in contemplation, an urge cropped in my mind to teach others on one to one basis if required, and share the knowledge that I have gained from experts over the years,” says Jeetendra.

He has been into printing business since 1996 after his Technical education. “I have had the opportunity of attending several (not just one!) practical screen printing workshop at DMI institute run by then Grafica. I started the process of cut colour printing instead of CMYK process and it gave me a good result and my company received many awards for such jobs. Over the years I gained knowledge on the job, from suppliers, customers. And, most importantly, I also updated my knowledge from Bhargav Mistry, Director of the then DMI institute. I also seek and update knowledge from screen printing experts such as Bill Hood and Michel Caza through their updates on Facebook.”

He concludes “Over the years, I have had the opportunity share knowledge with many but I don’t have a count; some over the phone and some in person by guiding them with technical difficulties in different types of jobs such as achieving colours on dark colour boards, colour separations, mesh selection, job planning, box making techniques, paper bag making etc. I feel satisfied by helping other’s to grow with what we have learnt from our experience.”
